Katie Rosewood is an Australian guitarist, singer and songwriter creating music born of direct, emotional and bold intentions.

With a desire to explore classical guitar music elements in a contemporary context, Katie takes an eclectic and inventive approach to composition and songwriting. Classically trained at the prestigious Conservatorium of Music in Sydney, she holds a degree in Classical Guitar Performance. Katie’s technical acumen as a classical guitarist pits her as one to watch in the Australian scene.

Currently based in the cultural hub of Sydney’s inner-west, Katie regularly plays as a solo performer and with a band behind her. Katie’s haunting vocals and instrumental techniques compliment her songwriting, which explores the darker side of human emotion. Each song is an attempt to communicate honestly and unreservedly an inward state.

Katie has played intimate sets across Sydney at venues such as LazyBones, The Newsagency, Stave's Brewery and the Gasoline Pony. She has also played at venues in the Blue Mountains, Newcastle and Brisbane as well as taking her sounds to Boston, performing at dim basement venues such as the Lizard Lounge.

As a classical guitarist, she has performed for events at Sydney University, Barangaroo, City Recital Hall, The Royal Automobile Club, the Shangri-La Hotel and many private functions.

Wishing to bridge the gap between passion and technique, Katie has created a sound that skillfully combines classical elements over a bed of alternative rock. Her EP 'Seeds' (2016) is currently available for download and streaming on the Music page and her YouTube channel.

More recently she has released two singles 'Machine Thinking' (July 2019) and 'The Scary Thing' (Jan 2020) which are part of a larger body of work to come.
